Departmental Safety Officer (DSO)

We are a team of four persons supporting you in your daily questions on Safety within the Beams Department and at CERN. If you want to learn more about our mandate as Departmental Safety Officers (DSO), Deputy Departmental Safety Officers (DDSO) or Administrative Departmental Safety Officers (ADSO), have a look at the GSI-SO-1.

Furthermore, the BE Safety Unit is responsible for the Safety Permit process and the DSO test.

Project Safety Officer (PSO)

Two of our members are also Project Safety Officers.

Territorial Safety Officer (TSO)

The Territorial Safety Officers (TSO) are knowledgeable about all Safety related aspects in the buildings. Therefore TSOs are the key contacts for the Safety Unit to gain information about buildings, to address Safety aspects and participate in exercises and inspections.

The GSI-SO-2 defines the mission and scope of the TSO. You can search for TSOs and DTSOs in ROLES.

Radiation Safety (RSO)

The Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is a specialized Safety Officer according to GSI-SO-6. The SSI-SO-6-3 defines the mission and scope of the RSO. You can search for RSOs and DRSOs in ROLES.

Laser Safety (LSO)

The Laser Officer (LSO) is a specialized Safety Officer according to GSI-SO-6. You can search for LSOs and DLSOs in ROLES.

Flammable Gas (FGSO)

The Flammable Gas Safety Officer (FGSO) is a specialized Safety Officer according to GSI-SO-6. The SSI-SO-6-2 defines the mission and scope of the FGSO. You can search for FGSOs and DFGSOs in ROLES.

Cryogenic Safety (CSO)

The Cryogenic Safety Officer (CSO) is a specialized Safety Officer according to GSI-SO-6. The SSI-SO-6-1 defines the mission and scope of the CSO. You can search for CSOs and DCSOs in ROLES.
